Community Mini-Murals
(2021 - Present)
Michelle Sasha started the Palm Harbor Palm Tree Project in Sept 2021. After taking the leap to formally build her art career in March 2021, she wanted to find unique ways to integrate art into her community. It was clear that art wasn’t weaved into her community the way it was elsewhere.
In the Tampa Bay Area, there’s a huge art scene, primarily in Tampa and St Pete. She wanted to bring the feel to her town by creating murals and art for the public to enjoy. The first dozen Palm Trees she painted proved that this was much bigger than just a palm tree painting. Each person that she met was so grateful and happy to have this mini mural painted, not just because it was a kind gesture, but because there was a feeling of exclusivity in having an artist hand-paint something for them. Maybe in more art-centric areas, having original art pieces adorn businesses and homes was commonplace, but it wasn’t quite the same where she was.
That only motivated her more, she could tell she was offering people more than just a pretty palm tree, but a seat at “the cool table”. The main goal was to incite togetherness, and sense of community while supporting the arts, and this project proved to do just that. The demand for these free palm tree mini-murals was intense! The SAME DAY she announced the project, she had over 100 sign ups in - only 5 months later she has since completed over 500 FREE palm tree mini murals, and another 400+ by the ArtFluent team since then!
As her business grew, she launched ArtFluent Creatives, and having several artists now meant she could spread this feeling to more than just this one town, she expanded to Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor, CLearwater with more towns on the way!
